BraveSpace's managing director is David McLean. He has been a youth justice practitioner in the north of England and in London for 20 years.

 

After starting his career in youth justice in Liverpool and then as a Probation Officer, he spent several years working with high risk and dangerous individuals, before returning to his passion of working with young people.

 

He is a committed advocate of restorative approaches, and has sat on the Restorative Justice Council nationally. He has a long established practice as a coach and trainer, delivering courses on a range of youth justice subjects, and sits on the YJB workforce development advisory panel.

 

In 2011 he received a commendation from the London Mayor, Boris Johnson, for his outstanding contribution to the work of keeping young people safe during the London riots.

 

Most recently he has been developing the expertise of central London YOTs in tackling child criminal exploitation and County Lines.
